Feasibility study on a National Timber Traceability system in Zambia

The subject of this public procurement is to contract the services of a Supplier to carry out a Feasibility Study on a National Timber Traceability System in Zambia, which will assess the technical, institutional, financial, and regulatory feasibility of implementing a unified, digital traceability system for timber and forest products across the country. The purpose of the assignment is to develop a Feasibility Study and a costed Implementation Roadmap that will provide the Government of Zambia and the EU-ZM Forest partnership and to the Czech Development Agency (CzDA) with an evidence-based plan for establishing a functional, transparent, and interoperable traceability framework aligned with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and national forest policy priorities. The study will offer practical recommendations on how to harmonise current systems and set up effective coordination, verification, and data management mechanisms to ensure legality and sustainability across the timber supply chain.
